5 Pro Tips to Get the Most Out of GPS Map Camera

GPS Map Camera is powerful out of the box, but a few settings changes can transform it into an indispensable tool for your workflow. Here are five tips our power users swear by.

1. Lock GPS Before You Shoot

Open the app at least 30 seconds before your first shot and watch the accuracy indicator. A reading below 5 metres is ideal for field documentation. Indoors or in urban canyons, switch to Wi-Fi-assisted positioning in Settings for a faster lock.

2. Use Project Name for Easy Sorting

Tap the pencil icon on the stamp editor and enter a project code or client name. Every photo taken in that session will carry the label — making it trivial to filter your gallery later and export a project-specific PDF report.

3. Choose the Right Map Style

For urban documentation, the Standard map clearly shows street names and addresses. For rural or construction sites where satellite imagery is more useful, switch to Satellite or Hybrid. The map thumbnail updates live as you move.

Under Branding in Settings, upload your logo (PNG with transparency works best). It will appear on every stamp, turning each photo into a branded, professional document. This is particularly effective for client-facing field reports.

5. Export PDF Reports Automatically

After a shoot, tap Select All in the gallery, then Export → PDF Report. The app compiles every photo with its GPS data, address, and timestamp into a clean multi-page document. Share directly to WhatsApp, email, or cloud storage in seconds.
